INVEST IN YOUR CHILD’S FUTURE
Despite the snow outside, suggestions for your child’s summer may already be pounding on your door and filling your mailbox. With so many summer opportunities out there, what makes Global Works unique? A Global Works Summer Service Adventure is more than a trip; it is AN INVESTMENT IN YOUR CHILD’S FUTURE.
The NY Times recently published an article titled “For a Standout College Essay, Applicants Fill Their Summers.” According to this article, “students are planning their summer experiences to augment who they are and discover who they are, and that absolutely helps the college process.” Since 1990, Global Works has been offering such summer community service and cultural exchange travel programs. These programs are designed to expand world views, build leadership skills, and provide students with standout personal experiences–exactly the kinds of experiences noticed by college administrators.
With Global Works, we are committed to your child’s future. Even in these uncertain financial times WE MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER TO TRAVEL THIS SUMMER. Global Works offers: (more…)

Local Community Involvment

Trivia: 2011 Catalog Quiz – ANSWERS
We hope you had sometime to review our 2011 Catalog. Here are the answers to our trivia questions from last week!
Q: What year did Global Works set out on their first adventure, and what was the purpose of this trip?
A: Global Works was founded in 1989 by Pam and James “Biff” Houldin. Puerto Rico was the destination for the first service program. In an unfortunate coincidence, Hurricane Hugo devastated much of Puerto Rico that September. Amidst the devastation, Biff realized that meaningful service and cultural exchange might be achieved through the reconstruction of homes after this terrible storm. In the summer of 1990, 25 students and 5 staff embarked for Puerto Rico!
