- Karen Goodman: (2008-2009_leader): Karen is currently on sabbatical this year (2009/10) from teaching at an elementary school. She is working on improving her Spanish and administrative certification, and traveling the globe!

FIJI ISLANDS:
- Betsy LeVine: (2008 – 2009 _ leader): Betsy is currently living in Portland, Oregon teaching music to children through a fantastic program called ‘Music Together‘ and becoming certified as a Postpartum Doula (a person who helps mothers transition into motherhood). She is also doing lots of yoga and singing in her band!
- Jessica Schwartz: (2003_student): Jessica is currently in college at the University of Arizona and hopes to return to Fiji soon!
- Amanda Batista: (2005_participant): see Mexico.
- Mike Berk: (1994_Participant): Mike is currently looking to start a new career, possibly photography. He has spent the past 8 years as a manager of a customer support help desk . He attended Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall and Hartwick College.

COSTA RICA:
- Polly Doyle Moriarty (1998 – 2004 _ leader): Attended Ohio Wesleyan (BA) and University of Colorado (MA). She is a mom to Ellie (19 months) and is married to Fritz, her best friend and co-director at Global Works!
- Melinda (Ford) Smith (2004, 2005 _ leader): Attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX for her B.A., Tulane in New Orleans for her M.A. and her M.A. in language at American University in DC. She is living the Chattanooga area, and is married with a two year old daughter, Carlie. She took a few years off from teaching Spanish, and it now back and loving it!- Nate Grossnickle (1999 – 2003 _ leader): Attended Mount Saint Mary’s University and is now teaching Spanish and coaching the tennis team at Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, NC.
- Melissa London (1997 – 2000 _ leader): Attended NMH and Smith College. She got married to her sweetie, Margo, in September of ’07. She is currently teaching 6th grade (Science & English) in Brookline, MA and loving it!
- Stewart Kerns (2007 _ leader): attended Kenyon College and currently lives in Washington State.
- Hope Swank (2008 – 2009 _ leader): Attended St. Mary’s College of Maryland and is now teaching nature education to 5th and 6th graders in the Bay area.
- Wendy Ellis (2003 – 2009 _ leader): Attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (BSE), Edgewood College and Lakeland College (MAC). She is currently teaching 7th and 8th grade English Language Learner (ELL) students and on her way to completing her Master’s degree in school counseling. She recently received approval for a grant that she co-wrote to sponsor a summer school program for ELL and bilingual middle school students to increase their academic performance and awareness of higher education and career opportunities. She is happily living in Madison with her boyfriend, cats (Hunter and Piper) and their newly adopted rescue dog, Conan.
- Savannah Odum (2010 _ Participant): After being in Costa Rica for 2 Weeks, I came to the realization that I most definitely want to work with children! I am now in 10th grade and working with kids everyday by helping teach classes in k4-1st grade at my school and cheering everyday!

- Brian DiFeo (2003 – 2009 _ leader): After seven inspiring summers (and springs) in Puerto Rico, and two wonderful years as the East Coast Rep for Global Works, I’ve finally “landed on my feet” with a new job in NYC. I work for the Downtown Alliance, which is Lower Manhattan’s Business Improvement District and is making Lower Manhattan a better place to live, work, and visit. I am the Community Manager of the Hive at 55, a coworking space funded by the Alliance and the City Government to support and promote the economic development of NYC. Specifically, the Hive offers affordable desk space for freelancers, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and startups. My role is market the Hive to potential members and facilitate the networking and collaboration among our members. We also host social events, workshops, happy hours, and meet and greets. I’ve been here for a few months and I am loving it!

- Katelyn Roberts (2008; Spain 2009_leader): Working full time in the Global Works Home Office for part of the year and leading trips again in the summer of 2010! She just completed a 2.5 month backpacking trip in Central America and is now taking the GREs in preparation for grad school in the next couple of years.

- Christopher Lindstrom: (2006 – 2008 _ leader): Attended Ohio State & George Mason. He is currently facilitating at The Mosaic Project, a peace building program for a diverse array of Bay Area 4th & 5th graders. Chris also starred in SF Follies, a musical comedy on SF at the beginning of the year. He led humanitarian missions to Belize & Kenya this past summer (2009). You can find Chris is singing and acting in and around the San Francisco area!

- Michael Jacobs (2004, 2006 _ leader): Michael attended Westminster College and is currently teaching Economics and coaching basketball at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH.
- Amanda Batista: (2004, Fiji 2005_participant): My Global Works experiences have set the tone for my life essentially – Six years after my first trip, I’m still in touch with leaders and fellow tripees, and my trips still follow and encourage everything I do in my life. Who knew that six years later it’d still be all I talk about! Now, after graduating from Vassar College this past December, I’m working in NYC but wishing I was 16 again and could go on another Global Works trip. I’m also looking forward to my 23rd birthday when I can officially become a leader!

- Erica Zins (2005, 2006 _ leader): Erica is currently an elementary school counselor in a k-5 school and working on her educational leadership degree.
- Liz Brennan (2007 _ participant): Attending Eckerd College in Florida and is majoring in Ancient Studies. She will return home to PA at the end of the semester, and may be heading back to Ireland soon!

- Anne Nickman Millar (2003, 2004 _ leader): Attended Jamestown College, ND, BA in 1991 and University of Montana M.Ed. in 2004. She is currently an academic counselor at Juniata College in PA, as well as a Mom to Wyatt (3 years) and Molly (15 mos) and assists her husband Jud (also a GW alumni) in directing Stone Mountain Adventures, a traditional sleepaway camp for ages 12 – 16.
