Molly Robbins – Leader

Swarthmore College, B.A. Political Science, Minor Sociology & Anthropology
An international relations junkie with a serious adventurous streak, Molly has experience with a variety of human rights and education nonprofits.  She worked for a community development org in Guatemala for a year and a half and led two Global trips while there.  Maine-raised but a convert to the Mountain West she has led youth backpacking trips in Wyoming and is currently enjoying the slopes of Park City, UT.  Molly graduated from Swarthmore College with a degree in Political Science and Sociology and Anthropology.  She believes deeply in the combination of service cultural exchange and humor and is psyched to help students connect to communities.

Cynthia Renwick – Leader

Goucher College, M.F.A. Writing Creative Non-Fiction
Franklin and Marshall College, B.A. Anthropology
Cindy is the newest addition to our Panama leader team! She is currently a high school English and Social Studies teacher in Lyons, Colorado and loves working with teens. She has traveled to Central America numerous times from an early age and since to many other destinations around the world. Originally travelling to Costa Rica to do service work as a teen and then to Guatemala for two years as a Fulbright Scholar to work with the Mayan population. Cindy knows the culture, people, and language of the area well. She is excited to share that passion with her Global Works students this year in Panama on her first Global Works trip. When she isn’t traveling or teaching, Cindy enjoys the outdoors, camping, hiking, caving, kayaking and road biking. In addition, she is a bluegrass musician, avid reader and writer, and anthropologist.

David Brown – Leader

University of Vermont, B.A. Chinese Language and Culture
Dave grew up an East Coaster with a love for the outdoors.  After being labeled the “Mountain Man” of his high school he appropriately went on to earn a degree at the University of Vermont in Chinese Language and Literature while becoming a leader for the UVM Outing Club and an Instructor on the Wilderness Instruction and Leadership Development course there.  Since graduating David has split his time between his passions spending one year teaching English in China and the following enjoying the splendid sunshine of the Colorado Rockies.  This summer David is excited to finally combine his yearning for adventure and love of China into one wonderful experience

Willy Sier – Leader

Zuyd University, B.A. International Communication & Mandarin
Willy is new on our Global Works team. This spring and summer she will lead all groups coming to China. She spent the biggest part of the last seven years in Beijing studying Chinese language and culture and working in tourism. Therefore, she is guaranteed to show you all the best places there!  Willy was born in Holland and still visits there occasionally in between travels. It’s hard to keep track of which country she is in as she works hard exploring the world. She likes to rock climb and last May ran the Great Wall Marathon. She is excited about sharing her China experience with all of you.

Jay Lively – Leader

Warren Wilson College, B.A. Human Studies, Global Issues Concentration
During his senior year in high school Jay got his first taste of adventure travel when he journeyed to Nicaragua and Guatemala to study Latin American history and experience the culture. Those adventures as a teenager changed his life and he never lost his love of exploring the world around him. When he’s not teaching World History Jay is seeking out new adventures. His travels have taken him to four continents and more than 30 countries including extended visits to India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Argentina, Peru, Greece and Morocco just to name a few! Having double-majored in journalism and global studies, Jay has also participated in three documentaries based in Spain and Mexico. You might even catch a glimpse of him on The National Geographic Channel hiking the Camino de Santiago trail on the Iberian Peninsula. Jay’s other interests include playing basketball finding waterfalls and working with homeless youth in his community. This December, Jay will be happy to have finally completed his Masters in Education from Western Carolina University.
