100 Book Day – Reading for a Cause

Alumni as both a Global Works Leader and Office Homie, Katie Doyle Myers continues to pursue her creativity and passion to help others. Katie and her son Finn, who is four, recently participated in the “100 Book Day.” Katie and Finn contacted Reading Village about their challenge, which was to read 100 books in a day as a fundraiser tool to support literacy in Guatemala. Global Works directors return from New York
Global works directors, Tom Appell and Craig Fahey have returned to Colorado safely from their travels in New York last week. Along with Dan Hammond, a Global Works leader, the guys spent the week traveling around New York visiting schools, participating in Summer Opportunity Fairs and visiting the homes of past and potential Global Works participants. A sampling of the many wonderful diners and deli’s took place in between meeting countless inspiring and motivated young adults. Thank you to everyone for your time and support of Global Works. International Volunteer Day – Celebrate Service
International Volunteer Day (IVD) is Saturday, December 5th. This day was designated by the United Nations beginning in 1985 and the purpose is to thank and celebrate volunteers for their efforts and increase public awareness on their contributions to society. IVD is celebrated in the majority of countries around the world! (more…)
