Erik’s Costa Rica Travel Update

Global Works Director, Erik Werner, traveled to Costa Rica from December 13-19.  The purpose of his visit was to review our program operations and to meet with many of the wonderful Costa Rican people who make these trips possible.  Along with Costa Rica Country Director, Crisley Cespedes, they met with representatives from the communities of Pueblo Nuevo and San Juan de Penas Blancas. Members of both communities expressed their profound gratitude and provided a tour of the various projects Global Works groups have accomplished over the past years. (more…)

Costa Rica Project Update

Global Works 2009 Costa Rica leader, Lola Rodden, updates bloggers on our Summer Service Projects:

Hey everyone,

Just had a nice convo with Rohel, the president of the Comite de Desarrollo de Guadalupe.  He was glad to hear from Global Works and to give me a project update.

At the church, the community is using the new kitchen not only to make food to sell to raise funds, but also as a Sunday School classroom. They built the bathroom on the outside, and it’s replaced the bushes as the place “to go!” :)   The community center is being used constantly, and people still say how nicely taken care of it is (the new paint job helps a lot!) Global Works Traveling the Globe

Global Works Office Homies are all over the globe this season! Program Director Erik Werner is visiting Costa Rica this week, Director Craig Fahey is traveling to New Zealand next week, and office assistant Sarah White is mapping out her adventures in Peru for early January.  Katelyn Roberts, Global Works Account Manager is returning home from a three month stint in Central America.
